Knitting Projects

This is a small page for keeping track of what I'm knitting, what I've finished, and what I'm daydreaming about making next.

I picked up knitting in October 2025, an interest rekindled after seeing a friend wear her hand-knit scarf. Like many people, I was taught some simple knitting skills (casting on, the knit stitch) when I was young (about 8-9), but it didn't really stick with me until now.

Knitting has brought me so much joy. It reminds me that I can be self-sufficient, that I'm capable of learning things quickly, and that I can teach myself new skills. It also reminds me that open-source info sharing is awesome (thank you, Nimble Needles, and all those granny blogs I came across)! Most importantly, it gives me a sense of agency and lets me exercise my free will - I truly have the freedom to create whatever I want, whenever I want. Knitting is basically 3D printing, but with your hands.

Knitting also allows me to connect with my grandma, who used to unravel and reknit sweaters to keep her family warm in the winter and to sell her hand knits for a living. That alone is immensely valuable to me.
