Hi, I'm Karen! I am a PhD student and budding researcher with interests spanning computation, complex systems, and evolutionary biology.
That's how I typically introduce myself to people these days. It sounds really cool, but this site isn't about my research. This website is a place to collect photos, notes, projects, and various ramblings and happenings from my personal life. As much as I love my current line of work, this site is my refuge from the "real" world; a way to live out my childhood dream of being a webmaster, and a space to celebrate the parts of myself that don't always get as much attention anymore.
I'm a (somewhat) formally trained artist, a ballet school graduate of debatable competence (I spent 6 years at the Ho Chi Minh City Intermediate Dance School), and someone who played classical piano for 11 years and hasn't touched the keys seriously since 2017. These days, most of my creative energy goes into knitting, which I picked up in October 2025 and have been obsessed with ever since.
On any given day, you might also find me reading, journaling in my Midori Traveler's Notebook, chasing down samples of discontinued perfumes, browsing for indie nail polish, scouring eBay for your grandma's wool coats, experimenting with new makeup techniques, attempting the occasional DIY haircut, or doing at-home/calisthenics workouts.
Anyway, thank you so much for being here, and welcome! I hope you enjoy your stay.
